In season 1/2001, I chose the theme identity from artist Louise Bourgeois. Bourgeois work is about the helping hands. Bourgeois working with stone sculptures and plaster casts of hands. After she made the black color of helping hands. She used memory, emotion, and strength to works that make viewer on a high vision level to see her artwork. Also, Bourgeois's work was in Chicago she creative those helping hands that mean to help each other. In addition, I saw some of the artwork from our textbook and we learned about Louise Bourgeois.
In season 2/2003, I chose Kara Walker in "Stories" and her work is Darkytown Rebellion. Kara Walker works is simply about past events. She works with a group of people and act about the story about the past. She talks about a point in history and act it. She spent a lot of time to work in the studio and all of his artworks are fiction. There are many things that she want to work and unexpected that she have been doing it. I like her artwork because it is very amazing and not many artist creatives that kinds of artwork. I would like to create this kind of artwork in our classroom with our classmates. I think that will have a lot of fun.
In season 3/2005, I chose artist Josiah McElheny in "Memory". He works came from the previous source because he used all the previous source to redo or transforming it slightly. He uses a silver glass to build and do theory with other artists in the "Total Reflective Abstraction". Josiah McElheny wants to be a modern person to show this generation people should have to check yourself, be a thoughtful person, and be a smart person. I think his artworks are an amazing because it made of previous source. Many of artists don't think of using the previous source to do their artwork.
In season 4/2007, I chose Judy Pfaff in "Romance" and she was attracted by materials and sculpture. When she comes a painter she couldn't stop her job. She stopped until she finished another thought that didn't work. For the sculpture, they used few months to do it. Pfaff has an exhibition about sadness and loss. that using tree roots, neon tubes, and plaster forms to explore the world of black and white. She is a very creative person because her artworks very detail of drawing and look like the sun but when you look forward you will think it is the flower. When I have material I will try to make my own like Judy Pfaff's artwork.
In season 5/2009, I chose Paul McCarthy in transformation. Paul work at Bossy Burger he used BBQ turkey leg, stage set, bowls, cooking utensils, chair, counter, milk, flour, and ketchup to made it. Paul is a painter and people ask him what is his responsibility to the audience for his artwork. He explains that the difference between making art and making environment. Paul has a studio at Los Angeles and working with his assistant of drawing and sculptures. I think his artwork so messy because it looks like somebody just finish cooking. I like the artwork look clean and comfortable.
In season 6/20012, I chose Ai Weiwei in Change. Ai’s art work Sunflower Seeds and he made 100 millions of small sunflower seeds. Also, his public artwork near Central Park “Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads” Ai has assistants are E-Shyh Wong and Inserk Young. Ai was interview by Art 21 in 2011. I learned how Ai can make so many small sunflower seeds and put it on the floor. I think spent a lot of time and incentre to do each one. I think I will fail to do it because it small and I don't like to work at the same thing every day.
In season 7/2014, I chose Katharina Grosse in Fiction. Grosse’s artwork “ Just Two Of US” at Metro Tech, Brooklyn, New York, 2013. It was big artwork and paint with different color. Grosses create the colorful sculptural environment and painting. Gross uses boat building techniques to create abstract sculptures and the material record. I like her artwork because she uses the different color to paint that make the artwork look for colorful.
